WOLF - First win against one of the top teams Wolfsburg failed to win a single game against one of the Bundesliga’s top teams in the Hinrunde .  In the opening game of the Rückrunde, however, they secured their fir st victory over one of those sides in 2020/21 with a 1-0 win in Leverkusen.  The Wolves are up to fourth in the table (their highest position to date this season) and are now one of the top teams themselves . WOLF - Better than in their title-winning season 32 points after 18 matchdays is Wolfsburg’s second-best Bundesliga tally .  They’ve only been better off once: 37 points in 2014/15, when they finished second .  Even in their 2008/09 title-winning season, the Wolves didn’t have as many points to their name at this stage of the campaign – back then they “only” had 27 . FRI - Back on a winning run Since the disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Mainz on MD-8, Freiburg have lost just one Bundesliga game, being narrowly beaten 2-1 at Bayern on MD-16 .  T...

It seems, however, that such seasonal changes do not always apply to the climate of northern Belgium. In its 103-year history, the Tour of Flanders has been the stage for some of the most dramatically weather-affected races cycling has seen. Despite originally falling at the end of May , the race has built such a reputation for rain, wind and freezing conditions that the term ‘Flandrian’ has come to define both extreme conditions and the hardmen who thrive in them. “It was as cold as Siberia all day and the rain fell in torrents,” wrote...
