Or, perhaps, playa would better describe him, although he came along before that particular bit of vernacular entered the lexicon. Let's just say Cooper was a notable participant in the Pacers' Cinderella playoff run 40 years ago, perhaps the most dramatic the franchise has had that didn't lead to a championship. After finishing the regular season with a 45-39 record, they upset San Antonio in the first round, upset Denver in the second round, and played Kentucky for the ABA championship before losing in five games.
