Roberto Lencioni è meccanico sopraffino, ma soprattutto è uomo vero che ha nel sangue la bicicletta intesa prima come amore verso lo sport e poi come mezzo di lavoro.  Roberto è spo­sato con Cristina, ha due figlie (Jes­si­ca e Erika), vive a Segromigno Mon­te (Lucca) e nell’ambiente è chiamato Carube. «Un soprannome che è stato di mio nonno, di mio padre e ora mio - spiega Roberto -. Deriva da una pianta che produce una specie di fa­giolo lungo, carrube appunto, che viene usa­to per fare la farina e come cibo per animali.
