Dopo Julian Alaphilippe a Landerneau, tappa e maglia anche per Mathieu van der Poel in questo All-Star di fuoriclasse che è il Tour 108. Sulla seconda e ultima scalata del Mur-de-Bretagne, ai -750 metri, l'olandese piazza il terzo affondo. Quello decisivo. E vince in solitaria.  Settimo successo in stagione per lui, il 19esimo per la Alpecin-Fenix. Lo seguono i big, con Pogacar che mette in fila Roglic, Kelderman, l'ex leader Alaphilippe e Mollema. Sempre là davanti il tricolore di Sonny Colbrelli, mentre l'eterno Nibali - 21esimo a 41" - è il primo degli italiani nella generale. This one starts in a gentler manner, at least as far as the terrain is concerned, as the road follows the beautiful Pink Granite Coast of northern Brittany. Of course, being right on the edge of the Atlantic could make for a very challenging start indeed. What’s more, the route remains within sniffing distance of the coast until beyond the stage’s halfway point, so if the conditions are difficult there’s going to be little escape from them until the riders reach Saint-Brieuc, with two-thirds of the stage complete.
