My Homecoming - Il mio ritorno a casa
Cara Miami,
è stata una decisione emotivamente molto difficile per me. Dopo tredici anni, ho deciso di imbarcarmi in una nuova avventura, ai Chicago Bulls. Non è stato facile, ma sento di aver fatto la scelta giusta per me e per la mia famiglia.
Ho iniziato la mia carriera NBA con Miami nel 2003 ed è stato un onore aver giocato con gli Heat e aver contribuito a costruire una franchigia capace di vincere tre titoli NBA. Ripenso con orgoglio e stupore a tutto ciò che abbiamo raggiunto insieme. Ci tengo a esprimere la mia gratitudine alla famiglia Arison, a Pat Riley, a coach Erik Spoelstra, allo staff tecnico e all'intera organizzazione dei Miami Heat.
Dal profondo del cuore, desidero ringraziare l'intera comunità di Miami e in particolare la Heatnation per tutto l'amore e il sostegno di questi anni. E' stato davvero incredibile. Mi hanno profondamente commosso e ho molto apprezzato i tanti messaggi dei tifosi che vogliono il meglio per me e so che sosterranno la mia decisione. Le parate per i tre campionati vinti e i 5 titoli di conference sono ricordi di momenti incredibili che abbiamo condiviso e che porterò sempre nel cuore, anche se ora sta per cominciare un altro capitolo della mia vita.
Crescendo a Robbins, Illinois, non ho mai neanche sognato che per me sarebbe stata possibile una carriera nella NBA e che un giorno avrei indossato la maglia dei Chicago Bulls. Sin da piccolo, guardarli giocare mi è stato di esempio per inseguire il sogno di diventare un giocatore di basket. I miei ricordi più preziosi sono quelli di me che guardavo mio padre giocare a basket sui campetti della Fermi Elementary School e io che miglioravo al Blue Island Recreation Center. Non ho mai dimenticato da dove provengo e sono grato di avere l'opportunità di giocare nella squadra che per prima mi ha fatto innamorare del basket. Tanti miei familiari vivono ancora a Chicago e sono entusiasta di tornare nella città che porto nel cuore.
Non vedo l'ora di tornare alle mie radici e vedere che cosa la vita mi riserverà.

This has been an extremely emotional and tough decision to come to. After 13 years, I have decided to embark on a new journey with the Chicago Bulls. This was not an easy decision, but I feel I have made the right choice for myself and my family.
I started my NBA career with the Miami Heat in 2003 and it has been an honor to have played with them and help build a winning franchise with three NBA championships. I look back with pride and amazement at all we have accomplished together. I want to express my gratitude to the Arison family, Pat Riley, Coach Erik Spoelstra, the coaching staff, and the entire Miami Heat organization.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the Miami community and especially #HEATNATION for all of their love and support over the years. It has been truly incredible. I am deeply moved and appreciative of the positive messages from my fans expressing that they want what's best for me and I know they will support my decision. The memories including championship parades and five conference titles are incredible moments we have shared that will always remain close to my heart as I begin the next chapter of my life.
Growing up in Robbins, Ill., I never dreamed that an NBA career could have even been possible and that one day I would wear a Chicago Bulls jersey. Watching the Bulls growing up inspired me at an early age to pursue my dream of becoming a basketball player. My most treasured memories were watching my dad play basketball on the courts of Fermi Elementary School and developing my game at the Blue Island Recreation Center. I have never forgotten where I came from and I am thankful to have an opportunity to play for the team that first fueled my love of the game. Many of my family members still live in Chicago and I am excited to return home to a city very close to my heart.
I look forward to returning to my roots and to what lies ahead.
