Sulaimon is one of college basketball's most skilled players. If he puts everything together at Maryland, the Terps are probably going to the Final Four.

How'd He Get to College Park?
Sulaimon's taken a circuitous route to Maryland. When Mark Turgeon was the head coach at Texas A&M before 2011, he recruited Sulaimon for the Aggies. Sulaimon, as five-star talents tend to do, opted instead to attend Duke. He had a nice freshman season, but his development stalled out in Durham by the middle of his junior season last year. Sulaimon was rumored to not love his role on a crowded roster, and Mike Krzyzewski made him the first player he's ever dismissed from a Duke team in 25 years as head coach.
The Duke Chronicle, the university's student newspaper, later reported that Sulaimon had been accused of two sexual assaults while at the school. No charges were ever filed, and the university never pressed internal discipline. Sulaimon denied any assault. He graduated from Duke over the summer (He'd remained in good academic standing.), and Turgeon recruited him (again) to play out his last year of eligibility in College Park.
Career Highlight
Sulaimon's had a couple, and ironically enough, one came against Maryland. In 2013, he shot 6 of 8 from three-point range and scored 25 points (two off his career high) in a win against the Terps. And as a sophomore, Sulaimon hit this outrageous shot to send a heavyweight Duke-Syracuse game to overtime.
Dream Season
Sulaimon fits like a glove in Maryland's stacked lineup, shoots 40 percent on three-pointers, averages 12 or 14 points and gives Maryland the slashing, athletic presence Dez Wells used to provide.

2015-16 Prospectus
This isn't a slam dunk, but Sulaimon's probably going to be pretty good. Even if Sulaimon's numbers don't change much from last season, he's still a well above-average starting shooting guard. He doesn't need to be – and definitely won't be – Maryland's primary scoring option, but Maryland will still need him. He's the team's best isolation or last-shot scoring threat after Melo Trimble, and he gets to the foul line a bit.
Sulaimon's biggest role might be on defense, though. He's a superb athlete, and he'll probably guard the best ball-handler on the opposing team. Maryland's going to score a lot of points with or without him, but he's going to be indispensable on defense.
