25 - NATHAN BYRNE (Wolves MIDFIELDER)
25 - NATHAN BYRNE
He moved to Molineux from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.
Born in St Albans, Byrne played for his home town club before joining Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2010.
During his 3 years at White Hart Lane he was unable to break into the senior ranks but enjoyed first team action with loan spells at Brentford, Bournemouth and Crawley Town.
He spent the closing stages of the 2012/13 season on a similar loan deal with Swindon, during which time the move became permanent.
In his first full season at the County Ground's club he made 43 appearances, scoring 4 goals, and then helped Swindon to the play-off final in 2014/15, scoring 4 from 48.
He was also named in the Sky Bet League One team of the year.
Those statistics are perhaps more impressive given he had played in various positions defensively, as full back or wing back, but he started the 2015/16 campaign in a more advanced position on the right flank.
And that paid immediate dividends on the opening day, notching a 16-minute hat trick in a 4-1 win against Bradford City, the goal which completed the treble coming at the end of a mazy dribble.
