RUSTON – Former Louisiana Tech Lady Techster great Debra Rodman is one of 14 individuals that will be inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 23 in Dallas, Texas.
Rodman lettered for the Lady Techsters from 1980 through 1984, leading the program to an overall mark of 130-6, four Final Fours and two national titles (1981, 1982).
During her playing days in Ruston, Rodman scored 1,306 points and grabbed 1,200 rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the field. She ranks No. 28 all-time in total points and No. 2 all-time in total rebounds in Lady Techster history.
Rodman prepped at South Oak Cliff High School in Texas where she played for current Texas A&M head coach and former Louisiana Tech assistant coach Gary Blair. She only played one year of basketball in high school, averaging 17 points and 12 rebounds a game.
