Sui non banali 41,6 km di Zurigo, solo il 24enne fenomeno belga ha chiuso oltre i 52 km orari di media; e solo i suoi compagni di podio oltre i 51: 52,156 Remco, 52,051 Pippo, 51,279 Edo. 2-2 nell'albo d'oro per Remco e Pippo, che si son spartiti quattro degli ultimi cinque mondiali a cronometro.
