#24 Darren McGregor - Dc (ex Gers, vk)
A lifelong Hibernian support and a Leither, Darren McGregor has made sure he has enjoyed his time at Easter Road.
Initially joining on a two-year contract, which was extended in May 2017 by another two-years, the former Cowdenbeath, Arniston Rangers, St Mirren and Rangers defender made an instant impact with his lionhearted performances at the centre of the defence.
Quick and strong with great ability in the air, the combative centre-half has made sure of his name being the first on the team-sheet under the tenure of both Alan Stubbs and Neil Lennon. Darren's first goal was one to treasure, the 1,000th goal in Hibernian's Scottish Cup history, which also lit the long fuse towards success in the competition for the first time in 114 years.
During the 2016/17 season, his performance levels rose once more, which saw him win the Club's Player of the Year award, and he also wore the captain's armband in the absence of David Gray. His two goals against Queen of the South helped to secure victory, and in tandem the Ladbrokes Championship title.
Darren's impressive work has not been limited to on the pitch as well as he acts as the GameChanger ambassador, helping to promote healthy living in the local community - with Darren even helping out at the Christmas Day event at Easter Road Stadium.
