#11 Joe Newell - Csx

Wide midfielder Joe Newell has played a majority of his career in both the Championship and League One before opting to move north of the border in the summer of 2019.

Coming through the youth ranks at Birmingham City and Peterborough United. After a loan spell at St Albans City, Joe made his first team debut for the Posh in April 2012 and gradually played his way to prominence with the side.

In 2011/12 he played 15 times as they retained their place in the Championship and made 33 appearances the following campaign when they were relegated. He played 39 times in 2014/15, 42 in all competitions, and won the Player of the Year award for that campaign from the club, the supporters and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, before joining Rotherham United on a three-year deal.

His contributions to their cause in the Championship helped the Yorkshire side to avoid relegation as he chipped in with five goals in 35 matches and the following campaign the side struggled and were relegated.

He stayed for their League One campaign and once again excelled for the team scoring eight times in 45 matches and he assisted both goals in their play-off final win at Wembley as they secured an immediate return to the second tier.

At the end of the 2018/19 campaign Joe rejected a contract extension with Rotherham and opted to join Hibernian for a new challenge after being excited with the plans Paul Heckingbottom has for the club.
