#38 Sam McQUEEN

Former clubs:
Southend United (loan)

Sam McQueen is a cultured attack-minded player who has progressed through the ranks at Saints since he was eight years old.

Sam hails from Southampton and signed a longer-term youth contract in November 2011. McQueen enjoyed a goal-laden pre-season for the Under-21 side at the start of the 2012/13 campaign.

He marked his long-awaited comeback from injury with a call into the first team squad for the FA Cup game at Sunderland in February 2014 where he replaced Adam Lallana for the final quarter of an hour of the fifth-round tie.

McQueen enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Southend United during the 2015/16 campaign, with his most memorable moment being a goal in the Shrimpers' 3-0 win over Essex rivals Colchester United.

The Academy graduate was handed his Premier League debut in October 2016, replacing the injured Matt Targett in a 3-1 win against Burnley at St Mary's.

McQueen then started his first Saints game against Internazionale in the San Siro.
