Mainz delivered another ho-hum season, finishing 13th. After only producing a single win in the first 21 Bundesliga games, Mainz fired Jan Siewert in February and brought on Bo Henriksen to steady the ship.

Bayern Munich swept Mainz last season with 3-1 and 8-1 victories, the latter showcasing another Harry Kane trick. Ironically, the 8-1 rout in March was Mainz’s last defeat of the season. Mainz went on to win five matches and draw four others.

Mainz has been relatively quiet during the transfer window and should expect to finish midtable yet again.
